Bethany United Reformed Church

Project: Bethany United Reformed Church

Location: Wyoming, MI
Project Type: New Construction

BCI Construction provided Construction Management services for a 6,200 SF addition and 2,000 SF renovation at Bethany United Reformed Church. The project expanded the church’s ability to serve its congregation with new classrooms, a dedicated counseling area, an enlarged nursery and expanded kitchen, a main floor library, and a larger fellowship hall. Fire protection was also added to the existing octagon sanctuary, improving safety while maintaining the character of the space. The work was completed while the church remained fully operational, requiring careful planning and coordination to avoid disruption to services and weekly activities.

The team successfully completed the classroom spaces in time for the start of the next educational year. The project also included removal of a two-story interior brick wall within the new addition area and a load-bearing basement wall that supported precast concrete, along with aligning new construction to the existing building by matching brick and maintaining consistent truss lines. BCI self-performed demolition, rough framing, finish carpentry, and general trades work, providing greater control over schedule, quality, and coordination.
